I quite like shops like this in Fremantle as they give the town a lot of character the moss I bought is thriving well in my bottle terrarium.
I recently purchased a terrarium from The Green Emporium for my mum on Christmas. I had the terrarium for a total of 2 days before it started sprouting mould. I listened to the care instructions given to me and had ensured I put it out of direct sunlight in an air conditioned room. Despite this my terrarium was being ruined by the mould. After a week of trying to remedy the situation (wiping the mould off, leaving the lid off for extended periods of time, etc) and seeing no improvement I gave The Green Emporium a call. The woman who answered the phone insisted it was our fault and that we must have left the terrarium in too warm a room and that she could fix it for a charge. She was rude and blatantly blamed us for the result. Two days is not long enough for it to be solely our fault. It seems quite ridiculous that a terrarium designed for Perth climate would not be able to survive in an air conditioned room. Should I have resorted to keeping it in the freezer? Overall Im incredibly disappointed. I was excited to get my mum a terrarium, which she had be requesting for months. I essentially spent $50, and drove 40 minutes, for a jar and some rocks which I will now need to replace all the dirt and plants for.
So impressed! I wanted to buy everything! Reasonably priced too, which is amazing because some places like this can be a bit expensive. The owner was also really helpful, gave me lots of great tips about some plants I was having trouble with at home too!!
The owner made me a custom terrarium which I am thrilled to bits with. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. A lovely shop with gifts and beautiful floral arrangements.
Checked out this place today, got my missus one of those glass terrarium things, she said its the best one shes ever seen. Thanks to the lady for giving me all the care instructions. Heaps good!
